Job summary

Berger in Oakbank, Manitoba, is seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to maintain and optimize production equipment in a fast-paced setting. You will read blueprints, diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues, perform repairs, and support continuous improvement while upholding safety and team collaboration.

This permanent role offers a rotating schedule, occasional overtime, and comprehensive benefits including vacation, RRSP/TFSA, insurance and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Millwright certification or Red Seal preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
• Willingness to travel within Manitoba.

Responsibilities

• Assist with fabrication, installation, modification and adjustment of production equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance per the maintenance program.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related equipment.
• Inspect equipment and communicate repair needs to the supervisor.
• Read technical drawings and follow schematics.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for reliability and safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with safety policies.
• Overtime opportunities as needed.

Job Summary

• Assist with the fabrication, installation, modification and adjustment of production equipment;
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with the maintenance program;
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and related equipment issues;
• Inspect equipment, identify potential risks, and communicate maintenance concerns and repair requirements to the supervisor;
• Adjust, replace, lubricate, clean, and maintain production equipment and components as required;
• Perform minor welding, electrical, and carpentry repairs to support plant operations;
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, manuals, and schematics;
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, safety, and production efficiency;
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification, Red Seal or Advanced Apprentice status preferred;
• Industrial maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting experience;
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems;
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics;
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills;
• Self-motivated and able to work independently;
• Physically capable of performing the requirements of the position;
• Willingness to travel within Manitoba, as required.
