Job summary

Permacon is seeking an Industrial Mechanic for its Metcalfe facility. The role requires day shifts and may include weekend work, with on-site responsibilities at 6860 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON K0A 2P0.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, manage spare parts, and contribute to safety and continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma in industrial mechanics or electromechanics.
• Electric competency.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
• Machining experience.
• Arc/tig welding skills.
• Ability to interpret mechanical parts.
• Experience using hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability and optimal performance of machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and program mechanical components; lead preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a hands-on approach to resolving equipment issues.
• Manage spare parts inventory and support planning of mechanical shutdowns.
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Promote housekeeping and workplace safety.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for reliability and efficiency.
