Job summary

Immiland Canada is seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic to join our plant in Canada. You will read blueprints, install and align machinery, and perform preventive maintenance on pumps, conveyors, and generators to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires a 3–4 year apprenticeship or equivalent experience, with strong skills in machining, troubleshooting and safety. You will work with power tools, welding equipment and crane-assisted installations on site.

Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary school and training courses or a vocational program is required.
  • Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over five years of work experience and industry courses in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting is usually required to be eligible for trade certification.
  • Minimum 3 years in industrial mechanics, assembly and disassembly, heavy equipment handling.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery during installation, set-up and repair.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts during overhaul, maintenance or setup.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on machinery.
  • Construct foundations for machinery or direct others to construct foundations.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
