American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Lévis, QC, is seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic for the evening shift from 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday.

This permanent full-time role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of conveyors, grinders, shredders, and related equipment in a large metal recycling operation. The successful candidate will assess wear, replace parts, test performance, and install upgrades, while maintaining SST compliance and a clean, safe

Qualifications

• Strong experience maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment such as conveyors, grinders, shredders, vibrating tables, hydraulic systems, and presses.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs to standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, adjustments, alignments, and servicing of equipment including conveyors, grinders, shredders, vibrating tables, hydraulic systems and presses.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, breakdowns and failures.
• Inspect for wear and replace defective parts, components or systems.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance and compliance.
• Assist in troubleshooting to improve equipment efficiency and functionality.
• Carry out installation and upgrades of new machines or equipment.
• Complete work orders and follow up as necessary.
• Ensure proper use and operation of company equipment.
• Inform supervisor of any required actions, detected issues or time overruns.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow SST policies.
• Perform any other related tasks.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Mechanic to join our evening shift team. This is a permanent, full-time position from Monday to Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

What you’re responsible for:

Qualifications

To join our team:

• Strong experience in maintenance, repair, and adjustment of mechanical equipment such as conveyors, grinders, shredders, vibrating tables, hydraulic systems, and presses.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues, breakdowns, and failures, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Skilled in testing repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with standards.
• Ability to collaborate on problem-solving to improve equipment efficiency and functionality.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, including workplace cleanliness, compliance with health & safety (SST) regulations, and safe work practices.
