Job summary

Andritz AG in Kentville, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Red Seal Millwright to join our maintenance team. The role focuses on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and installation of equipment in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Millwright certification or apprentice considered.
• Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning equipment.
• Perform electrical and instrumentation repairs as needed.
• Conducts preventive maintenance inspections.
• Installs and modifies equipment as assigned.
• Lubricates and maintains all machines.
• Operates shop machining equipment to repair and fabricate.
• Completes service forms (MP2).
• Occasionally leads a crew on major projects.
• Adheres to safety rules and maintains good housekeeping.

We are looking for a mechanic to join our team.

Red Seal Certified Millwright. We would also consider a Millwright apprentice.

QHSE Responsibilities (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment)

• Comply with QHSE practices and rules, along with regulatory requirements
• Perform duties in a safe and compliant manner
• Report injury, near misses, unsafe or improper practices and conditions accurately and promptly.
• Assist in improving and maintaining safe and healthy working conditions, including participation in problem solving and risk analysis teams
• Attend all required HSE related training programs when required
• Coach new employees regarding proper HSE practices
• Know and understand the HSE plan and objectives
• Alert colleagues that are taking unnecessary risks
• Check safety devices prior to beginning operation
• Actively participate in HSE processes
• Question any work that you feel is unsafe and do not participate in work that will endanger the health or safety of any employee.
• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Job Requirements

• Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning equipment.
• Carried out electrical and instrumentation repairs within the scope of his abilities.
• Conducts preventative maintenance inspections.
• Installs new equipment and modifies existing equipment as assigned.
• Oils, greases, and ensures correct lubrication of all machines and equipment.
• Operates shop machining equipment to repair and fabricate equipment as assigned.
• Reports completed work on service forms and MP2.
• Occasionally will act as a crew leader when working on a major project.
• Works according to Department and Plant Safety Rules at all times.
• Maintains good housekeeping practices at all times and assists, as required, with the maintenance of security.
• Undertakes special assignments as directed by the Maintenance Superintendent or his delegate.
• Maintains tool assortment which are to be of sufficient quantity and quality to perform assignments.
• Perform property maintenance tasks, including janitorial services, floor sweeping/waxing, grass mowing and snow shovelling if needed.
• Must be familiar with all "Work Instructions" specific to maintenance via VKS and all other relevant work instructions. Must keep current on new processes and process changes.

Pay:

Shift premiums offered for 12-hour shifts and night shifts
