Job summary

Magna International’s Cosma division is seeking a skilled Maintenance Team Member to enhance uptime of tooling and production equipment. You will maintain, repair and improve mechanical systems, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and support preventive maintenance programs.

The role requires Journeyman experience, Millwright qualifications, and knowledge of welding and robotics basics. Shift rotation and a strong safety focus are integral to the position.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience as an Industrial/Construction Journeyman preferred.
• Millwright certification and high school diploma required; formal mechanical coursework emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and equipment.
• Operate lifting devices as required.
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment for irregularities and malfunctions.
• Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
• Operate machine tools to fabricate parts for overhaul or setup.
• Monitor and troubleshoot plant infrastructure to improve uptime.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and keep records for design weaknesses.
• Support cross-functional repairs and collaborate with vendors.
• Coordinate apprentice and contractor activities.
• Prepare drawings and material specifications for vendors.

Education

Millwright Certificate of Qualification (426A or 433A)

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent

Mechanical or Tool and Die course (4+ years)
