Job description

• Repair all aspects of machines or systems from drawings and schematics.
• Organize, plan and execute all phases of the machine repairs.
• Run pneumatic, gas and water circuits as per schematics.
• Clean and prepare components for use in vacuum chambers and systems.
• Completes daily/weekly/monthly tasks, inspections to ensure the machines are fully operational, clean and properly maintained
• Complete necessary repairs and or liaise with designated outside contractors to ensure cost effective preventative maintenance.
• Document and electronically file all related maintenance work
• Solicits quotes, prepares requisitions for approval for required facilities supplies and services
• Working with the Operations Manager overseeing the installation of new equipment (during and off regular business hours)
• Assist in emergency situations to ensure the protection of onsite personnel and corporate assets. Has knowledge of emergency response procedures and first aid training (ability to handle stressful conditions)
• Able to work on a rotational on-call basis to support after hour situations
• Reports any and all safety hazards concerns to management and actions the necessary remedy in a safe manner
• Adhere to and enforces strict building security guidelines
• Performs other duties as assigned, train on new equipment, travel may be required.

Required Capabilities

• Certified Millwright or Equivalent certified trade
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CNC equipment and vacuum deposition systems area an asset.
• Familiar with machine shop equipment and best practices.
• Resourceful with a proven ability to complete tasks within predetermined deadlines.
• Great work ethic with a positive attitude and desire to work as a team.
• Electrical background, panel building, wiring, service and troubleshooting skills an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to apply solid mechanical, hydraulic and electrical knowledge
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Systems and related preventative maintenance programs
• Ability to read drawings also knowledge of Building, Electrical, and Fire Code
• Knowledge of facility related regulatory guidelines and compliance a definite asset
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent communication both verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment to meet changing client needs

Desired Education and Experiences

• Certified Trade as a Millwright or similar Technology discipline (mechanical/electrical/skilled trade)
• 5-10 years related work experience
