Qualifications

  • Experience in a glass manufacturing facility is an asset.
  • Forklift (Tow Motor) training and experience is an asset.
  • Training in working at heights and elevated work platforms is an asset.

Maintenance Mechanic - PTG - Maintenance

Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, etc. Duties include diagnosing problems, disassembling machines, repairing or replacing broken parts, and performing preventive maintenance. All duties should be carried out responsibly within company safety policies.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Check, report, and repair equipment failures
  • Set up and repair product handling equipment
  • Perform vacuum repairs
  • Troubleshoot equipment to component level
  • Install equipment and auxiliary systems as required
  • Repair component failures (e.g., hydraulic pumps, valves, pneumatic valves)
  • Repair tool room equipment
  • Disassemble and refurbish/rebuild equipment
  • Maintain housekeeping in plant interior and exterior
  • Manage procedural plant shutdowns and start-ups
  • Operate new equipment as needed
  • Update and maintain logs for all new equipment
  • Maintain files for equipment
Qualifications
  • Millwright experience
  • Rigging experience
  • Ability to read hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic schematics
  • Fabrication skills (Lathe & Mill) are an asset
  • Training in working at heights and elevated work platforms is an asset
  • Forklift (Tow Motor) training and experience is an asset
  • Experience in a glass manufacturing facility is an asset
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work within a team-oriented environment
