IMW Industries Ltd. in Canada is seeking an Assembler to ensure quality workmanship on sub-assemblies and main assemblies. You will follow detailed instructions, use basic hand tools, and read production drawings to ensure accuracy.

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm. The role involves clocking in/out, tracking materials for costing, and reporting completed work to the Foreman while maintaining a strong focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 and some manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Read and interpret production drawings.
  • Good mechanical skills with basic hand tools.
  • Read a tape measure to the closest 1/16 inch.
  • Willingness to learn and be a positive team player.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Apply thread sealant and Loctite to threaded fittings and pipe.
  • Follow proper detailing procedure and work instructions.
  • Use the sandblaster properly.
  • Drill and tap holes.
  • Read a tape measure to the closest 1/16 inch.
  • Fill out applicable check sheets and report to Foreman.
  • Ensure materials are tracked and allocated for costing.
  • Support quality workmanship on sub-assemblies and main assemblies.

Job description

Position Overview:

The Assembler is responsible for quality workmanship with assemblies work as assigned for sub-assemblies and main assemblies.

Days of work:

Monday - Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Apply thread sealant and Loctite to threaded fittings and pipe.
  • Follow proper detailing procedure/work instructions.
  • Proper use of the sandblaster.
  • Drill and tap holes
  • Read a tape measure to the closest 1/16”.
  • Fill out applicable check sheets.
  • Ensure quality of work by showing an eye for detail.
  • Clock in and out of work orders and report completed work to Foreman.
  • Ensure materials are properly tracked and allocated to each job for costing purposes.
  • Other duties as required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Grade 12 and some manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Can read and interpret production drawings.
  • Good mechanical skills with and ability to use basic hand tools (drill, tape measure, etc.)
  • Trained on thread engagement work instructions.
  • Ability to read a tape measure to the closest 1/16”knowledge of equipment, tools, and mechanical devices used for assemblies.
  • Uses safe lifting and handling techniques.
  • Positive team player, dependable and highly motivated.
  • Has a willingness to learn.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Full range of motion required. Push, pull, bend, stand, twist, reach/work overhead, get into and underneath equipment.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions in English.
  • Proficient with entering data into a computer program.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
