Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to support our OSB facility in Edson, AB. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing electrical systems and PLC programming in a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Journeyman Electrician certification.
• Experience in Industrial Maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and programming with Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Experience troubleshooting and programming VFDs (Preferably Allen Bradley).
• Experience troubleshooting and set-up of DeviceNet and Ethernet/IP networks.
• Troubleshooting motors and motor starter controls.
• Ownership and commitment to safety and risk assessment.
• Instrumentation experience is an asset but not required.
• This is a safety-sensitive position; candidates must be able to pass drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment including power distribution and motor control systems (240 – 5KV).
• Provide PLC programming support (troubleshooting and upgrading); run conduit and wire/rewire systems.
• Assist in performing Millwright work and mechanical maintenance as needed.
• Manage the electrical systems in the manufacturing facility.
• Install, repair, and troubleshoot all electrical systems in the operation.
• Maintain communications with maintenance personnel and supervisors to safely perform duties.
• Assist with basic mechanical maintenance functions as needed.
