Job summary

Sunrise Soya Foods in Delta, BC, is seeking a diligent Janitor to maintain offices, plant, and warehouse areas while supporting production cleanups. The role focuses on cleanliness, safety, and sanitation across designated zones.

The successful candidate will work 8.5 hours per day, Tuesday through Saturday (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM), with a paid 15-minute coffee break and a 30-minute unpaid meal break. This is a full-time, permanent position with potential overtime as required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent qualification.
• Basic English language skills.
• Some experience working in a food manufacturing plant is an asset.
• Able and willing to work overtime (as required).
• Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cleaning/sanitizing offices, plant, warehouse, production-related tools, carts, buckets and baskets
• Reports janitorial equipment and supply needs and concerns to Supervisor/Manager
• Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
• Clean windows and mirrors
• Clean and supply restrooms
• Remove waste and empty trash
• Maintain a cleaning chart indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected
• Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies
• Organize janitorial storage areas
• Notify about unsafe conditions or concerning the need for repairs or maintenance
• Follow all health and safety regulations.
