An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Industrial Hygienist to join their team. Overview:
New Orleans, Louisiana: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Industrial Hygienist.
Essential Duties:
• Conduct Industrial Hygiene monitoring, field data collection, surveys, and assessments.
• Execute annual IH exposure assessment plans, including sampling strategies, scheduling, and implementation, covering noise, gases, vapors, dust, mold, heat/cold stress, ergonomics, ventilation studies, asbestos, lead, and radiation monitoring.
• Provide field safety support through positive field contacts, permit reviews, audits, coaching, job walks, and intervening in unsafe acts or conditions to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform environmental field activities, including hazardous waste, asbestos, lead, and mold inspections/surveys.
• Operate the Remote Confined Space Monitoring System (training and mentorship provided).
Requirements/Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, chemistry, toxicology, or a related discipline OR 2-4 years of industry experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety or Operations.
• Strong organizational skills with proven ability to maintain accurate and detailed field notes.
• Advanced knowledge of various computer operating systems, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to learn new software systems and data management tools.
• Ability to work extended hours, with overtime available after 40 hours.
• Willingness to travel for projects for up to 4 weeks at a time (Per Diem/Travel provided).
• Ability to take ownership and responsibility for projects.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to maintaining quality standards on all projects.
• Louisiana Asbestos Supervisor or Asbestos Inspector certification preferred but not required.
• TWIC card required (can be obtained in approximately 10 days via www.tsa.gov).
• Ability to pass a hair follicle drug test.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to hazardous materials and confined spaces.
• Capable of standing, walking, and working for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment as necessary.
