Job summary

Vale Base Metals is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Industrial Electrician for the Utilities Maintenance Team at Voisey’s Bay, Labrador. This on-site role operates on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, maintaining the powerplant, paste plant, booster station and other utilities critical to operations.

The ideal candidate holds an College diploma in Industrial Electrician with Red Seal credentials and 4+ years of mining/heavy industrial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Industrial Electrician is required.
• Interprovincial Industrial Electrician Red Seal Certification is required.
• Interprovincial Construction Electrician Red Seal with heavy industrial maintenance experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot, adjust and maintain powerplant and other utility equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance per plans on pumps, fans, conveyors, PLCs and diesel engines.
• Inspect parts, test systems, and replace defective components to meet specs.
• Document breakdowns and minor reports to support reliability.
