Job summary

Johnson Electric is hiring an Operations Technician – Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, test and repair industrial electrical and electronic equipment and control systems in our Ancaster, ON facility. You will diagnose PLCs, CNC controls, robotics, VFDs, and servo drives, program PLCs, and support reliability and safety initiatives.

The role requires 1–5 years post-qualification experience, a valid Electrician certificate, and a completed apprenticeship.

Qualifications

Valid Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (442A and/or 309A) in good standing.
Completion of a recognized Electrician Apprenticeship.
1–5 years of post-qualification industrial electrical maintenance experience.
Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical and control systems in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with PLC-based and automated equipment is required.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of industrial electrical equipment and control systems.
Troubleshoot complex electrical malfunctions involving PLCs, CNC controls, robotics, VFDs, servo drives, and control networks.
Install, program, calibrate, test, and maintain PLCs and related automation equipment.
Interpert electrical schematics and drawings to perform installations, modifications, and repairs.
Develop and document preventative maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability.
Coordinate and oversee external contractors and ensure compliance with safety and electrical codes.
