Job Title: Industrial Electrician 1st year Apprentice (Ontario)

Location: G3 Thunder Bay

Based in Thunder Bay and reporting to the Operations Manager, the role of the electrician is to carry out efficient electrical maintenance of the Terminal's infrastructures and equipment. The apprentice electrician must work closely with the mechanical maintenance and operation departments in accordance with the procedures and policies of G3 Canada Limited.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Holding safety as paramount, mitigate and report immediate hazards to superiors. Recommend safety improvements.
  2. Participate in daily toolbox talks and job hazard assessment reviews.
  3. Apply and adhere to Lock-Out-Tag-Out equipment isolation protocols.
  4. Do quality work and adhere to terminal housekeeping and food safety requirements.
  5. Enter performed work details into the work order system as required.
  6. Perform duties as directed by the General Manager, the Operations Manager, or designate.
  7. Work as directed on plant infrastructure and materials handling systems which may include:
  8. Belt Conveyors (Enclosed, Air Supported, and Conventional)
  9. Bucket Elevators
  10. Dust Collection Systems
  11. Grain Cleaning equipment
  12. Drag conveyors
  13. Pneumatic Equipment
  14. Fans
  15. Electrical Systems
  16. Participate in provided training requirements as set out by G3 Thunder Bay management.
  17. Perform other related duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Graduate Electrical Technician from Trades College preferred.
  2. Familiarity with maintenance requirements of heavy industrial materials handling systems preferred.
  3. 1 year minimum experience in an industrial plant setting preferred.
  4. Demonstrated leadership, quality of work, troubleshooting ability, and exceptional safety record.
