Job summary

Agropur Cooperative in Ontario seeks an Industrial Electrician to diagnose and repair electrical systems on production equipment, including transformers, motors, VFDs and sensors, and to replace wiring and components as needed.

The role requires a current Ontario electrical license, 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, and PLC/SCADA exposure (ControlLogix, FactoryTalk View). A night shift with a premium and overtime may apply, with CMMS usage and safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Ontario Industrial Electrician license is required.
• 3 years maintenance experience in manufacturing, preferably food/beverage/dairy/pharma.
• Experience troubleshooting with Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC and FactoryTalk View HMI/SCADA.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
• Experience with industrial electrical power systems, PLCs, motors, VFDs, and related systems.
• Ability to create ladder diagrams and simple drawings.
• Proficient MS Word/Excel; (MP2 database) familiarity is a plus.
• Able to work independently or in a team; good English communication.
• Familiar with WHMIS, GMPs and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical/motor systems across production lines.
• Repair/replace components including PLCs, relays, sensors, VFDs, and wiring.
• Install/repair electrical wiring, conduits and fixtures.
• Perform preventive/predictive maintenance per work instructions.
• Troubleshoot PLCs/SCADA on packaging/processing machinery.
• Verify repairs and document changes.
• Work safely and with PPE; may use CMMS.
• Support autonomous and preventive maintenance programs.

Your role in achieving results:

• Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, VFDs, electrical instrumentation and sensors, lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables;
• Repairs and replaces electric and electronic components such as motors, contactors, relays, switches or sensors, PLC’s, light curtains, motor controls, VFDs, etc;
• Installs, examines, replace or repair electric wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components;
• Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on production and production supporting equipment as outlined in the individual work instructions;
• Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers and VFD’s on packaging and processing machinery;
• Test for malfunctions, verify repairs and document of all programming changes;
• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment;
• Be willing to upgrade skills to deal with new technology, including the use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS);
• Work with operators and other trades as required to achieve satisfactory results;
• Support the development of autonomous, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs.

What we are looking for to deliver these results:

• A current Province of Ontario Industrial Electrician License;
• 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical industry (asset);
• Experience in troubleshooting with Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC and FactoryTalk View HMI and SCADA system;
• Must have a thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code;
• Experience with industrial electrical power systems, industrial control systems, PLC’s, motors, VFD’s, and industrial communication systems;
• Able to create simple drawings, ladder diagrams and single circuit diagrams;
• Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, MP2 database system) (asset);
• Work independently or in team with little to no supervision;
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English;
• Must also be familiar with WHMIS, GMP’s and good health and safety work practices.
