Job summary

Johnson Electric is seeking an Electrician in Ancaster, Ontario (onsite) with a pay rate of $42.21-$45.16 per hour plus shift premium. This full-time, permanent role offers day shifts and diverse projects across industries.

You will design, produce and document electrical power and distribution systems, create electrical schematics, select components, and support machine builds. Strong understanding of PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, and safety networks is essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in producing electrical schematic drawings.
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Critical thinking to identify issues and present solutions.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Independent and multi-disciplinary team work capability.
• Understanding of safety circuits and controls networks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to ISO standards and Johnson Electric policies.
• Provide design, production and documentation for electrical power and distribution systems, controls and machine safety.
• Create and maintain documentation for assembly lines and electrical schematics.
• Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with suppliers to specify proper components.
• Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic circuits.
• Collaborate with controls technicians on PLC, robots and vision systems.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Ensuring the adherence to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 all Johnson Electric policies and any other industry standards in all activities

• Provide design, production and documentation developments for electrical power and distribution systems, controls and machine safety

• Create & maintain documentation for new and existing assembly lines

• Creating and updating electrical schematics for new and current projects

• Component selection and sizing

• Safety diagrams design

• Panel and machine layout

• Pneumatic and hydraulic circuit design

• Designing and documenting electrical automation systems

• Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives

• Work with suppliers to specify proper components

• Create, modify and maintain electrical build standards

• Support machine build activities

• Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic circuits

• Work in close conjunction with controls technicians during setup and development of PLC, robots and vision systems

• Perform other related duties as required

• Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

• Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years of related experience preferred

• Proficiency in producing electrical schematic drawings

• Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization

• Critical thinking to identify issues, present solutions and follow through to ensure completion

• Attention to Detail

• Committed to meeting deadline requirements

• Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation

• Very good knowledge and understanding basis and advanced control’s components like PLC, panel and field I/O modules, VFDs, servo systems etc.

• Understanding of safety circuits and requirements including networked safety − Familiar with controls networks (Ethernet/IP, EtherCat, I/O link, ASi …)

• Understanding of electrical code, components and wire sizing etc.

• Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
