Job summary

Groupe Lessard is seeking a Production Technician to transform architectural visions into tangible outputs on the production floor. You will analyze production documents and work with coordinators to propose solutions, preparing shop drawings in Inventor and updating drawings with precise details.

Ideal candidates hold drafting technology credentials with 1–10 years of experience, and are proficient in Inventor and AutoCAD; Opera knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• DEP in Industrial Drafting or higher, or equivalent experience.
• 1–10 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Opéra software is an asset.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Ability to meet work deadlines and project schedules.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and thorough in work.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret documents for the production phase of construction projects.
• Collaborate with Technical Coordinators to propose technical solutions per standards.
• Prepare shop drawings for the production plant using Inventor.
• Update drawing elements, including elevations, details and anchoring.
• Finalize shop drawings with anchors, frames, glazing, panels and more.
• Verify quantities of products (glass, aluminum, etc.) for projects.
• Prepare documents for production release (work orders, cutting sheets).
• Coordinate and communicate with Planning, Production, Procurement and others.

WHAT WILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

• Analyze and interpret documents required for the production phase of construction projects.
• Work closely with Technical Coordinators to research and propose technical solutions for each project, in accordance with established standards.
• Prepare shop drawings for the production plant (production release) using Inventor.
• Update drawing elements, including elevations, details and anchoring.
• Finalize shop drawings, including anchors, frames, glazing, panels, spandrels, purlins, etc.
• Accurately verify the quantities of products required to complete the projects under your responsibility, including glass, aluminum, etc.
• Prepare, as needed, the documents required for production release, such as work orders, cutting sheets, etc.
• Coordinate and communicate with other departments, including Planning, Production, Procurement, and others.

General Skills
