Position Overview

We are seeking a multi‑skilled Industrial Designer who can bridge design, process engineering, and hands‑on production support. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both technical design and practical implementation on the shop floor.

The successful candidate will design and optimize components, improve manufacturing workflows, and support automation initiatives. If you have experience in CAD design, CNC programming, and process improvement – and are eligible for EGBC or ASTTBC registration – this is an excellent opportunity to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities And Requirements
Design & Engineering Duties
  • Develop and modify detailed designs for sheet metal and tubular components using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Sigma Nest, Radan).
  • Develop CNC programs for cutting and forming operations (experience with Sigma Nest is an asset).
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accuracy in dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
  • Collaborate on prototype development and validate performance against design requirements.
Process Engineering Duties
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing workflows for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
  • Implement process changes, tooling upgrades, and automation solutions to optimise production.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of engineering changes and process improvements.
Production Floor Support
  • Provide hands‑on technical assistance during production runs.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and operators to resolve issues quickly and maintain workflow continuity.
Robotics & Automation Duties (An Asset Not Mandatory)
  • Operate, program, and troubleshoot robotic systems and automated machinery on the production floor.
  • Support integration of robotics into existing processes and train operators on best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while working with automation equipment.
Employment Details
  • Full Time: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (40 hours per week).
  • Wage Range: CA$28—CA$35 per hour.
Qualifications

(Wage is negotiable based on experience and skills.)

  • Post‑secondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years in industrial design, process engineering, or robotics integration (asset).
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Sigma Nest, Radan).
  • Knowledge of CNC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
