Job summary

Chemelex is seeking an Electrical Engineer/Technologist to design and analyze projects within scope, ensuring cost and schedule compliance. The role involves using NavisWorks, Smart Plant, AutoCAD, and TRACERLYNX/PROMAN to optimize processes and deliver high-quality drawings and specifications.

The candidate will work under supervision, demonstrate strong time management, and may engage in site-based assignments as needed. Alberta licensure or training is required or ongoing.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate Electrical Engineering degree or Technologist Diploma from an accredited university or College.
• Must be either formally registered, or in training, to be a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist in Alberta and know APEGA acts, ethics, and regulations.
• Solid time management skills.
• Under general supervision; ability to exercise judgment and follow supervisor instructions.
• Prev. EHT design experience is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Applies professional engineering techniques to design and manufacture products at the lowest overall cost and enhance product value to the customer by either Project, Product or Value Engineering.
• Provides engineering design and analysis within the assigned project scope of work, including conceptual studies, cost/planning studies, layouts, specs, and drawings; manages cost, schedule, quantity, and budget for the engineering scope.
• Develops resolution of problems of limited scope following standard procedures.
• Uses NavisWorks, Smart Plant, AutoCAD and in-house TRACERLYNX and PROMAN to optimize design processes.
• Performs various engineering and circuit design tasks within a paperless workflow.
• Establishes customer relationships and manages client expectations regarding technical execution, scope, schedule, progress, and change management.
