Job summary

Sureway Construction Group Ltd. is seeking a Journeyman Carpenter for our Edmonton site at the Esso Refinery area. This full-time, seasonal position requires a skilled tradesperson prepared for 10+ hour days with potential overtime.

Applicants must have a valid Journeyman Ticket, 3 years of relevant experience, and be able to work in physically demanding conditions. A vehicle and safety training are required before site access.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Journeyman Ticket for Carpentry.
• 3 years experience as a carpenter on a commercial or industrial site.
• Flatwork experience required.
• Experience with concrete formwork.
• Mix, pour, and spread construction materials.
• CSTS-09 and H2S Awareness training is an asset.
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required.

Carpenter - Journeyman

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, with over 50 years’ experience, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type

• Full Time, Seasonal

Schedule

• 10+ hours per day, 10 & 4 Monday to Thursday, OT after 10hr/day or 40hr/week

Essential

• Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

Requirements

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
• Valid Driver’s License (non GDL)
• Flat work experience

Pre-employment

• Drug and alcohol testing (urine-based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades as required.
