Job summary

The Indigenous Workforce Development Coordinator at Winnipeg Regional Health Authority drives recruitment, systemic integration, and retention of First Nations, Red River Métis, and Inuit professionals across WRHA. The role focuses on building a representative healthcare workforce by reducing barriers for Indigenous applicants and embedding cultural safety into HR processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in recruitment, workforce planning, or community development.
• Experience with job boards and HR software.
• Experience in workforce development functions specializing in Healthcare, Indigenous employment, workforce development, youth engagement strategies.
• Experience in workforce or career development with outreach to community.
• Experience in Mentorship programs.
• Experience working with Indigenous community; knowledge of Indigenous customs, values, beliefs and traditions.
• Lived experience and understanding of Indigenous healthcare priorities and culture within Manitoba.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Director - Workforce Development, contribute to a representative workforce within WRHA.
• Develop a regional workforce strategy including recruitment resources to promote Indigenous employment.
• Build strong relationships with WRHA management, employees, and the Indigenous community to attract Indigenous job seekers.
• Increase awareness of healthcare careers among Indigenous job seekers through outreach and recruitment initiatives.
• Promote WRHA career options to internal and external rightsholders.
