Job summary

Nicola Valley Institute of Technology seeks Term Instructors to teach Environmental Resources Technology courses in Cache Creek for the 2026–2027 session. The positions are sessional and begin November 2026, ending November 2027, subject to enrolment.

Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in a related field (Bachelor’s considered with experience), with a strong commitment to Indigenous knowledge, community engagement, and student success. Preference given to RPFs and indigenous connections.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience may be considered.
  • RPF designation is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.
  • Strong connections within Indigenous / First Nations communities are valued.
  • Ability to work in a student-centered team.

Responsibilities

  • Teach term courses in Environmental Resources Technology in Cache Creek.
  • Develop course materials, assessments and student supports.
  • Contribute to Community Education and NVIT initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Indigenous communities and NVIT staff.

NVIT anticipates a need for Term Instructors within the Environmental Natural Resources Technology program for Community Education in Cache Creek, BC and invites applications from qualified candidates. This will be a sessional term opportunity anticipated to begin November 2026 and end November 2027 course offerings are subject to sufficient student enrolment. Applicants should indicate which courses they are interested in and qualified to teach.

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in a related field, (Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience considered).
  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong connections and roots within Indigenous / First Nations communities preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of high functioning, student-focused team.
  • Strong passion and commitment to learners and learning.
  • Excellent teaching and human relations skills.
