Job summary

Ontario Native Women's Association (ONWA) is seeking an Indigenous Healthy Babies Healthy Children Worker to support prenatal to age 6 families and coordinate early intervention services. You will provide home visiting, referrals, and parenting groups with a focus on Indigenous culture and traditions.

Applicants should have a post-secondary credential in social sciences or health services, plus relevant community experience.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or bachelor's degree in social sciences or health services, or equivalent education/experience.
• Three years’ community-based work experience is required.
• Advocacy and referral to local service agencies are essential.
• Ability to network with community agencies and organizations.
• Experience tracking and reporting statistics.
• Crisis support, guidance and referral skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities; meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication with active listening.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and databases.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Indigenous families and children receive early intervention services.
• Provide home visiting, service coordination, and parenting support.
