Job summary

Dilico Anishinabek Family Care is seeking a Family Wellness Worker in Nipigon, ON. This permanent, full-time role focuses on guiding and supporting families to promote safety, well-being, and unity.

The worker will handle intake, protection and after-hours duties, while performing kinship searches to facilitate permanency and reunification in a culturally appropriate manner. Preference will be given to applicants with Indigenous Anishinabek ancestry and experience with Anishinabek families, as

Qualifications

• Indigenous Studies or related Human Services diploma preferred and 3+ years of community-based experience.
• Anishinabek ancestry, knowledge, and cultural practices are preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience with Anishinabek children, youth, families.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake, protection and after-hours duties to safeguard children.
• Conduct kinship searches to support permanency and family reunification.
• Guide and support families to promote safety, well-being and family unity in a culturally respectful manner.
