Job summary

Dilico Anishinabek Family Care is seeking a Family Wellness Worker in Nipigon, Ontario. The role supports families to promote safety, wellbeing, and reunification, including kinship work and care planning within a culturally respectful framework.

The position requires Indigenous knowledge, community experience, and readiness for travel or on-call duties. Employment is full-time with benefits and a focus on family-centered Indigenous care.

Qualifications

• Minimum post-secondary education: Indigenous Studies or related Human Services diploma with a minimum 3 year of experience in community-based models.
• Anishinabek ancestry and understanding of Anishinabek history, culture, traditions and values preferred.
• Two years minimum experience with Anishinabek children, youth, individuals and families.
• Criminal Records Search required.
• Must be able to travel regularly and be on-call as needed.
• Valid Class G Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle with $1M liability.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to families to promote safety, success and well-being.
• Perform kinship searches to facilitate permanency and return of children in care.
• Protect children through intake, protection and emergency after hours duties as required.
