Job summary

Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) seeks a full-time Employment and Training Counsellor for the MÉTIS Employment & Training Department at the MET Recruitment Office, 200 Main St, Winnipeg, MB. Conduct client assessments, determine eligibility for MET programs, and provide job search support with access to labour market information.

Responsibilities include developing employment plans, counselling clients, managing documents, and coordinating with community resources.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Social Sciences or related field is required.
• Minimum of two years of employment/career counselling experience.
• Experience facilitating presentations/workshops to client groups.
• Strong computer skills with Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint and case management software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of clients to determine employment needs and eligibility for MET programs and services.
• Assess client needs through interviews, gather information, and determine eligibility and readiness.
• Provide clients with job search assistance and information on programs, services, and resources.
• Develop employment and training plans and match with MET programs or services.
• Provide ongoing counselling support during employment and training activities.
• Prepare and monitor cash flows and other financial documentation for client files.
• Research labour market information and access job postings and resources.
• Establish and maintain networks with community programs and partners.
