Job summary

University of Toronto Mississauga invites a Special Projects Officer (Indigenous Curriculum and Pedagogies) to lead initiatives that advance Indigenous knowledges in curriculum and pedagogy. You will drive multi-stakeholder projects, coordinate workshops, and guide departments toward action on Calls to Action outlined in Wecheehetowin.

You will collaborate with Knowledge Keepers, faculty and staff, shaping inclusive education and research practices across the campus and community.

Qualifications

• Minimum six (6) years of project management experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Minimum four (4) years’ experience working with Indigenous communities/agencies in project management or community development.
• Extensive experience in Indigenous knowledges, collaborations, curriculum and education.
• Experience with Knowledge Keepers, learners, faculty and staff; appreciation for diverse backgrounds in the university community.
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office; templates, macros in Word/Excel; PowerPoint; SharePoint; scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Identify, manage, and lead projects that increase awareness of Indigenous ways of knowing.
• Initiate research on Indigenous knowledges; provide guidance and advice; design, coordinate and facilitate workshops.
• Coordinate with departmental leads, committees and units to move projects forward and meet Calls to Action in Wecheehetowin.
• Work with diverse university stakeholders to advance Indigenous curriculum, pedagogy and research methods.
