Job summary

Seabird Island Band is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to provide culturally informed childcare within its early learning programs. Under the direction of the ECE Team Lead, you will create a safe, nurturing environment and deliver developmentally appropriate activities that support children's growth and wellbeing.

You will collaborate with families and community partners, follow licensing and safety protocols, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Education Certificate is required and a current license to practice.
• First Aid and CPR certification completed or in progress.
• Foodsafe certification is an asset.
• Experience working with children in an Early Childhood Education setting is required.
• Strong knowledge of child development and family-centered practice.
• Experience with assessment tools and culturally safe practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally and culturally appropriate activities to support children's growth.
• Assist with meal and snack preparation and food safety as needed.
• Provide a safe, nurturing, inclusive environment with flexible routines.
• Directly supervise children, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and caregivers to support learning.
• Uphold Indigenous values and community context in programming.
