Job summary

Hall & Larocque LLP, a 100% Indigenous-owned law firm based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, seeks a skilled lawyer to support senior lawyers in Winnipeg and Vancouver, with 2-3 days in office and 2-3 remote work. The role focuses on Indigenous governance, economic development, corporate and commercial matters, and real estate, with mentorship and client access across Canada.

Qualifications

• Law degree from an accredited institution.
• 3–6 years of legal practice in a business-related field.
• Licensed to practice law in Manitoba (Law Society of Manitoba).

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and support to Indigenous governments on governance, policy development, and financing.
• Assist in Government-to-Government negotiations and drafting.
• Guide clients through consultation and accommodation processes on major projects.
• Collaborate with Indigenous businesses on corporate organization, governance and policy development.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements across industries.
• Conduct due diligence and negotiate documents for commercial real estate transactions.
• Support start-ups and high-growth businesses with incorporations and transactions.
• Provide regulatory compliance guidance across industries.
• Maintain client relationships and communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
