Qualifications

Independent Contractor - Social Compliance Auditor

Job Description

NSF is a globally recognized organization for public health standards. We conduct testing, auditing, and certification, supported by accredited labs. Additionally, we provide top-tier consulting and training for brands and businesses. We are looking to expand our team with the addition of an APSCA Certified Independent Contractor, Social Compliance Auditor. This role is remote and can be based throughout Canada.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit inspections and audits
2. Schedule designated inspections and audits
3. Develop effective work plans to complete assigned inspections and audits within a specified timeframe
4. Summarize and evaluate inspection and audit findings
5. Communicate findings and results of inspections and audits with client site management or appropriate client representatives
6. Ensure that the audit inspection results are reported on time in accordance with the scheme requirements, along with travel expenses
7. Maintain effective communication with key team members, including audit delivery, and client teams
8. Represent NSF with the designated clients
9. Perform other assignments as needed

Qualifications

1. 4-year college degree is required
2. Minimum two (2) years of experience in social compliance auditing
3. APSCA Registered Auditor (RA) or Certified Social Compliance Auditor (CSCA) required
4. Registered by the Association for Professional Social Compliance Auditors (APSCA) passing all 3 parts of the APSCA exams
5. Lead Social Compliance Auditor training
6. Experience with CSR, SA 8000, SMETA or similar standards
7. Effective problem-solving skills
8. Excellent Customer Service and results oriented
9. Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics
10. Strong business acumen
11. Possession of a valid driver's license
12. Access to a computer with MS Windows operating system and a personal mobile phone
13. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, reporting, and analysis tools
14. Must have a registered business LLC
15. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
16. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred but not required experience:

1. Be an approved auditor for GFSI schemes
2. Experience with food safety standards

Current Day Rate is $850 per audit day
