Job summary

Calvary Child & Family Services is seeking passionate Child and Youth Mentors to support individuals with behavioral and mental health needs. The role offers flexible schedules as an independent contractor, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends, with priority given to evening and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Social Services field or equivalent.
• 1–2 years experience supporting children, youth or adults with complex needs.
• Vulnerable Sector Check valid (within 6 months preferred).
• Child Welfare Record Check from local CAS.
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.
• Crisis training (CPI, UMAB, TCI); UMAB through Calvary.
• Driver’s License with access to insured vehicle.
• Immunizations and TB testing up-to-date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized support plans and crisis intervention for clients with ASD, DD, mental health, or dual diagnoses.
• Provide one-on-one mentorship in foster homes, family homes, day programs, hospitals, group homes, and community settings.
• Ensure safe transportation to appointments following agency guidelines.
• Maintain documentation including shift, incident, medication, and logs.
