Job summary

Wood’s Homes seeks a Youth and Family Counsellor to support children and families on a 4 days on/4 days off rotational shift. You will provide direct care, develop care plans, teach skills, and help families navigate services, with a focus on healing and wellbeing.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, engage Elders, and participate in 24/7 coverage for youth in care while maintaining program safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Direct care and treatment of children in programs.
• Ability to develop and revise individual care plans with team input.
• Experience with vulnerable populations and multi-system involvement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead therapeutic interventions and case management for children and families, attending meetings and consultations.
• Create and maintain a structured environment that supports engagement and functioning.
• Teach daily life skills, routines, chores, and personal hygiene.
• Develop and revise care plans and goals with team collaboration.
• Provide cultural and spiritual engagement opportunities with Elders and spiritual leaders.
• Manage crisis situations using non-abusive restraint techniques aligned with TCI.
• Perform program tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation.
• Ensure program compliance with licensing, COR Certification, and Accreditation Standards.
