Job summary

The Palliser School Division invites applications for a temporary part-time Educational Assistant at Huntsville School, supporting students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The role emphasizes early learning for PUF children within a highly collaborative learning community.

Anticipated start is August 21, 2026, with an anticipated end date June 30, 2027. Applicants must provide relevant child care certification and must meet standard first aid and CPR requirements.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary certificate in child care or development with practicum in special needs.
• Equivalent combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
• Experience in an inclusive learning environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provides educational instruction for students and supports access to technology.
• Participates in planning the student IPP as a member of the learning team.
• Provides input to the Teacher to help students reach their goals based on experience and knowledge.
• Communicates with parents and the student’s learning team members to share information and collect feedback.
• Facilitates development of student self-esteem and independence through established programs.
• Encourages positive interaction among students.
• As required, provides personal care including toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, grooming, etc., while maintaining student dignity.
• Ensures safety of students in school and community; supervises students during breaks and field trips; sanitizes equipment.
• Maintains confidentiality and collegial relationships within the learning team.
• Performs other related duties as required.
