We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time temporary Inbound Load Planner to join our Transportation team in Langley, BC.

This temporary position is expected to last 18 months.

The successful candidate must be available to support after-hours responsibilities, including phone coverage from Monday to Sunday and on holidays, as needed.

Reporting to the Manager, Inbound Transportation, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking inbound shipments managed by Pattison Food Group. This role plays a key part in optimizing cost-effective freight movement through the Transportation Management System (TMS), ensuring timely deliveries to distribution facilities while supporting internal stakeholders and meeting PFG’s service standards.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building efficient inbound routes using the Transportation Management System to ensure cost-effective, on-time deliveries.
  • Assigning and tendering loads to carriers based on service level and cost, while monitoring shipments to address issues proactively.
  • Collaborating with supply chain teams, including procurement, transportation, and warehousing, to ensure alignments on logistics operations.
  • Maintaining strong communication with vendors, carriers, and third-party providers.
  • Resolving daily transportation issues, including claims, billing discrepancies, and vendor/carrier inquiries.
  • Tracking service performance, analyzing data, and preparing KPIs and documentation to support continuous improvement.
  • Participating in special projects and after-hours escalations related to product availability, customs, or deliveries.
  • Supporting policy enforcement and contributing to updates of internal procedures.


You have:

  • A minimum of Grade 12 education, along with 2 or more years of relevant experience or education in transportation or logistics.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management applications and Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.
  • CITT transportation systems fundamentals coursework or certification in progress is preferred.


You are:

  • An analytical thinker with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • An excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative with the ability to work well in a team environment.
