Job summary

Safeway Liquor is seeking a clerk to deliver exceptional customer service while keeping the workspace clean and organized.

You will handle checkout tasks, scan items, process payments, balance the cash register, and meet productivity standards while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is a valuable asset.
• Knowledge of the cash register system is a major asset.

Responsibilities

• Enter and/or scan the item(s) selected by the customer.
• Ensure entered/scanned prices are accurate, and cancel transactions according to established standards.
• Handle cash and other payment methods (debit cards, cheques, etc.) and make deposits according to established policies.
• Balance the cash register.
• Meet productivity standards (sales/hour, entries/minute).
• Provide exceptional and attentive customer service.
• Bag items according to established standards.
• Keep work areas and uniforms clean and well-maintained.
• Use equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner.
• Comply with established food safety and hygiene standards.
• Perform any other related duties.
