Job summary

Sobeys in Calgary is hiring a cashier/clerk to deliver friendly, efficient service at the checkout and throughout the store. You will enter/scan items, verify prices, handle payments, and balance the till, while maintaining a clean, safe workspace and adhering to food safety standards.

Flexibility to work varying shifts, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential. Prior cash register experience is an asset.

• Handle cash and other payment methods (debit cards, cheques, etc.) and make deposits according to established policies.
• Balance the cash register.
• Meet productivity standards (sales/hour, entries/minute).
• Provide exceptional and attentive customer service.
• Bag items according to established standards.
• Keep work areas and uniform clean and well-maintained.
• Use equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner.
• Comply with established food safety and hygiene standards.
• Perform any other related duties.
