Job summary

SWRAC in Dorchester is seeking a Job Coach to support learners on pre-placement planning and during their placements. The role is in-person at the Dorchester Centre with a zero-hours, part-time contract. You will work closely with learners, staff and local employers to enable successful placements.

Applicants should have experience with SEND and be able to travel to placements; driving licence is required. The post includes safeguarding responsibilities and DBS checks in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND and teaching/coaching preferred.
• Experience in different business environments.
• Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Work with learners to establish rapport and support needs.
• Attend work placement interviews and help prepare for interviews.
• Engage with employers to define placement roles and support needs.
• Carry out work placement HASP checks if required.
• Support travel training for learners to reach placements.
• Assist with workwear purchases when needed.
• Plan pre-work placement visits with learners and employers.
• Encourage good personal hygiene and presentation.
• Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies to support placements.
• Familiarize with Access To Work hours planner and identified needs.
• Check parental consent for photos/video.
