Job summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking seven part-time Tutor (CUPE) positions for the CHMHC Help Centre at the Main Campus, starting January 1, 2027 and ending April 30, 2027. Work involves in-person student assistance under the supervision of Professor Fabien Gagosz, with hourly rates depending on student status.

Responsibilities include addressing questions about first-year chemistry courses, with specific hours allocated as negotiated.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of chemistry consistent with a chemistry major and outstanding marks.
• Successful completion of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to students having questions related to first year chemistry courses.
• Allocation of hours to various tasks to be described and signed by supervising professor before work starts.
• In-person support and interaction with students at the Help Centre.
