Job summary

The University of Guelph in Ontario is seeking teaching assistants, graduate service assistants and sessional lecturers for CIS*2500 Intermediate Programming in Winter 2027. Roles involve lab prep, grading, office hours and student consultations, with in-person duties on campus.

Selected candidates must be current Winter 2027 students, available for multiple lab times, and able to support grading, invigilation and discussion sessions.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a student in Winter 2027 and able to complete in-person responsibilities.
• Must be available during at least 3 of the scheduled lab times.
• Experience moderating online forums.
• Excellent writing skills and ability to critique student assignments in writing.
• Ability to explain computer science concepts to students both in writing and verbally.
• Demonstrated familiarity with unit testing and Linux command-line tools.
• Familiarity with 'make' and Google C coding conventions.
• Experience providing coding assistance and technical support via electronic communications.
• Must have previously taken CIS*2500 with a minimum grade of 75% (transcript required).
