Job summary

University of Guelph is seeking Teaching Assistants and Graduate Service Assistants for the Winter 2027 term in the School of Computer Science. Positions support online CIS1200 course delivery, grading, and student consultation, with flexible hours and potential for on-campus involvement.

Assignments run January 7, 2027 to May 7, 2027, with a wage of 31.26 CAD per hour. Candidates must be enrolled for Winter 2027 and meet course prerequisites. Training and AI use policies are in place.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a student in the Winter 2027 semester.
• Must have successfully completed CIS*2500 (Intermediate Programming) with a minimum grade of 75%.
• Must have excellent writing skills and be able to effectively critique (in writing) student assignments.
• The ability to communicate computer science concepts to students effectively, both in written form and verbally.
• Experience with distance education courses either as a student or as a TA.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CIS*1200 subject area through course development or having recently taken a similar undergraduate or graduate course.
