Canadian Natural is seeking a Law Student for a summer internship in Calgary, AB in the Corporate Legal Services team. The role offers exposure to commercial contracts, litigation, procurement and IP, with meaningful, hands-on tasks and mentorship.

Key duties include reviewing pleadings and court orders, assisting with drafting and negotiating contracts, and conducting legal research in a diversified oil and gas environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of first year studies in law.
• Knowledge of contract law, commercial law, corporate law and litigation concepts.
• Strong reading and analytical skills.
• Eagerness to learn working in tight timelines and integrate with others.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in task completion.

Responsibilities

• Review key information in legal documents such as pleadings, court orders, garnishee summons, and affidavits.
• Assist Counsel and Paralegals with drafting, updating and negotiating complex commercial contracts and with administrative duties.
• Conduct legal research.
