Job description

Trustpoint.One is pleased to partner with a leading real estate company in its search for an Attorney to join their existing legal department on a direct hire basis in the Richmond, VA area. The In-House Attorney will assist with residential landlord-tenant matters, litigation, and insurance matters. Specific duties of the In-House Attorney include, but are not limited to the following :

• Responsible for analysis of and communication with on-site property directors regarding landlord-tenant issues, including eviction procedural questions, ADA accommodation requests, Section 8 housing questions and various policy related issues.
• Manage landlord-tenant disputes and litigation matters.
• Manage insurance litigation matters.
• Assist in management of and coordination with insurance adjusters and insurance brokers in oversight of risk management program.
• Review, revise and assist in implementation of internal policies relating to residential landlord tenant issues in various jurisdictions.
• Review and negotiate corporate contracts.

Qualifications :

• Juris Doctorate.
• Current and in good standing member of the bar association of any of the following states : VA (preferred), North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee and Georgia.
• A combination of law firm and in-house experience is a plus.
• Prior experience working directly on residential landlord-tenant matters.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Comfortable working collaboratively, but also self-disciplined, self-motivated, and experienced enough to work independently without significant oversight (though regular communication with General Counsel is expected).

Salary commensurate with experience starting at $115,000.
