Job summary

CareGivers, a program within Brightisle, is seeking Home Support Workers in Newfoundland and Labrador. Join a committed health care team providing in-home support to families and individuals, helping with daily living, companionship, and care plans.

The role involves flexible shifts, in-person work, and adherence to safety guidelines. Pay is hourly, with in-house training available where needed, and a focus on compassionate, client-centered service.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 high school education and experience as a home support worker OR
• Certification as a home support worker (Preferred) OR
• Willingness to commence in-house training

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as bathing, toileting, and grooming to the client
• Complete housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and shopping
• Provide companionship and accompany client to events and appointments
• Follow plan of care approved by Client Care Manager
• Provide specialized care such as Alzheimer or palliative care if required
• Document and report client progress
• Promote good mental health for the client
• Develop a caring relationship with client and family
• Provide emotional support
• Ensure safe living/working environment per OH&S guidelines
• Adhere to CareGivers’ Code of Conduct
