Your Team
Join the In-Flight team at Flair, where safety, consistency, and continuous improvement are the foundation of our cabin crew qualifications. The In-Flight Quality and Standards Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of regulatory compliance programs and SMS case management within the In-Flight department. This role ensures alignment with Canadian aviation regulatory framework, internal standards, and industry best practices. The incumbent also provides direction on training standards and supports initiatives that drive consistency, safety, and continuous improvement across In-Flight operations.
This role is based on-site at our Calgary, AB (YYC) or Edmonton, AB (YEG)office.
A Day In The Life
- Responsibility for the delegated CASS 725.07 (2)(d)(ii) responsibilities:
- (L) In his or her absence, all responsibilities and duties shall be delegated to another qualified individual, except that the knowledge requirements detailed under Flight Attendant Manager qualifications may be demonstrated to the air operator rather than the Minister (e.g., providing coverage for the Manager, Cabin Safety during absences).
- On behalf of the Director, In-Flight, providing oversight for in-flight safety case management (e.g., report delegation for investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, etc.) and driving department KPIs for case lifecycle compliance, as outlined in the SMS Policy Manual.
- Implementing and maintaining the Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA).
- Liaising with the Manager, Cabin Safety, regarding regulatory requirements. Researching and developing cabin safety policies, procedures, and evaluation criteria to ensure standardization.
- Providing subject matter expertise on Canadian Aviation Regulations, Commercial Air Service Standards, Advisory Circulars, and other related regulatory materials to ensure compliance with all cabin safety requirements.
- Monitoring for compliance and/or changes in applicable or relevant documents to maintain continual adherence to regulatory and IOSA standards and procedures. This includes IOSA, TCCA, FAA, CARs, and other applicable industry standards.
- Completing compliance reviews of the Flight Attendant Manual and training program amendments before submission to Transport Canada.
- Administering the Training Monitoring Program and providing recommendations to the Manager, In-Flight Training, to enhance flight attendant training effectiveness and engagement.
- Assisting the Manager, Cabin Safety, with activities related to the entry into service of new aircraft. Acting as a subject matter expert on the addition of new aircraft and/or types to the fleet.
- Creating, documenting, and maintaining key in-flight quality processes in the In-Flight Operations Process and Procedures Manual.
- Actively contributing to a culture of continual improvement in cabin safety.
- Leading, coordinating, and participating in various in-flight projects and initiatives, as assigned by the Manager, Cabin Safety.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Role

- Education:
- Post-secondary education in Aviation, Safety Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Completion of Transport Canada-approved Flight Attendant Manager training or designation is preferred.
- Experience:
- Current or previous Transport Canada designation as a Flight Attendant Manager under CASS 725.07 is considered a strong asset.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience applying 705 Commercial Air Services regulations, including Company Operations Manuals, Flight Attendant Manuals, training manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, and Canadian Aviation Regulations and Standards.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity within a cabin safety regulatory environment, specifically involving the design, delivery, or quality oversight of cabin safety programs at a 705 multi-crew jet operator.
- Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of CARs, CASS, ACs, CLC, IOSA, etc., as they relate to cabin safety.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop effective corrective actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear and compliant documentation, reports, and procedures.
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs (e.g., LOSA, Training Monitoring Programs, Quality Assurance initiatives).
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in compliance reviews and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with regulatory authorities.
- Requirements:
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
