Job description

The Client is Canada's second-largest oil company, involved in extracting oil and gas, refining it into usable products, and selling them through gas stations. They are a major player in Canada's energy sector.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

Support field electrical maintenance work and electrical isolation (Lock Out Tag Out - LOTO) for lighting, air conditioning, and motor maintenance. Plan and execute scheduled preventive and breakdown maintenance activities to minimize impact on production and maximize operational availability. Typically reports to a supervisor.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the level-specific tasks and responsibilities, the role includes:

  • Working with vendors and sub-contractors as required
  • Complying with requirements of MOC for plant modifications
  • Applying skills and knowledge practically and efficiently, seeking opportunities for improvement, cost savings, and simplification
  • Promoting high SSHE standards and demonstrating responsibility for safety, minimizing impact on production, and maximizing operational availability
  • Employing Observation Safety Techniques (OST) to report safe and unsafe acts
  • Participating in a responsible waste management system
  • Attending and participating in the operations morning shift meetings
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in a related position, preferably in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Relevant discipline-specific certification(s) or equivalent professional experience
  • Effective communication skills for describing conditions and recommending remediation steps
  • Team-oriented attitude; effective teamwork and willingness to assist others
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Schedule

Month-long contract. The home office will be in Edmonton, with assignments requiring travel to Hay River and Norman Wells.

Pay Range

The pay range is $- per hour; actual pay may vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience. Additionally, there is a daily rate of $ / day plus a food allowance.

Additional Notes

Must have a valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance to access Client and Company properties.
