Job summary

William Osler Health System is seeking an Occupational Therapist to deliver client-centred therapy, assess physical, cognitive and perceptual function, and plan discharge-focused interventions across multiple Osler sites in Ontario.

Responsibilities include education for patients, families and staff, participation in rounds and committees, and adherence to COTO standards. Hours include days/evenings with weekends; travel between sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
• Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
• Membership in CAOT or OSOT preferred.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension).
• Recent experience in adult physical medicine.
• Basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to general medicine and rehab clients.
• Experience with psychosocial, cognitive, perceptual and physical health related assessment and intervention skills addressing occupational performance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage high caseload volumes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality occupational therapy services within a client-centred framework.
• Determine the physical, perceptual, cognitive and functional status of patients through assessment; plan and implement interventions and recommendations upon discharge.
• Provide education to patients, families, students and interdisciplinary members; participate in rounds, meetings and quality initiatives.
• Practice in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the COTO.
