Yellowhead County Fire Department in Evansburg, AB seeks a Work Experience Program Firefighter for a 12-month, full-time, on-site assignment starting Winter/Spring 2027. Gain hands-on firefighting experience alongside full-time and paid-on-call crews.

Remuneration includes a 2026 rate of $28.07/hr plus 4% holiday pay, with 12-hour shifts in a 4-days-on/4-days-off rotation, paid biweekly. Living accommodations and training opportunities are provided to support career development.

Qualifications

• Accredited Fire Program Graduate or equivalent, completed within the last 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Fire suppression and rescue duties within Yellowhead County fire protection boundaries.
• Participate in training as required by the department’s program.
• Perform routine duties including equipment maintenance and station chores.
