Job summary

Zenith Paving is seeking a General Laborer to support road construction projects with a focus on preparing sites, loading materials, and assisting paving crews. You will perform manual tasks such as shoveling, lifting, and sweeping, and help maintain safe, organized job sites.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and be able to work outdoors in varying weather. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Zenith yard are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in construction or roadwork is an asset but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking for long periods).
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to follow them.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Zenith yard.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and takedown of construction zones.
• Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Perform physical labor such as shoveling, raking, sweeping, lifting, and moving debris or materials.
• Support asphalt paving crews by distributing asphalt, cleaning tools, and preparing surfaces.
• Operate small tools and equipment under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work site by removing hazards and ensuring safe access.
• Assist equipment operators and skilled tradespeople as directed.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Work in varying weather conditions and extended hours, including some weekends if necessary depending on the project timeline.

Responsibilities include site preparation, loading and unloading materials, cleaning job sites, and supporting paving, grading, and other roadwork operations.

Key Responsibilities
