Job summary

Northern Health’s University Hospital of Northern British Columbia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver compassionate patient care within an interdisciplinary team. The LPN will follow established policies, participate in care planning, assessments, interventions, and documentation, while seeking collaboration with RNs/RPNs as needed.

Accountabilities include responding to incidents, orientation support for new staff, and contributing to a safe, respectful environment for patients

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing LPN registrant.
• Current basic cardiac life support certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to an assigned group of patients/residents following policies and Standards of Practice.
• Participate in developing care plans, assessments, interventions, and documentation.
• Act as an advocate for patients/residents and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Respond to incidents and assist with orientation of new staff and students.
